The holidays are a time of declining television viewership. FOX Comedy, seeking to reverse this trend, entrusted us with the mission of developing activities that would engage viewers and boost ratings during the holiday season.
Based on the channel’s character and its audience profile, we created a gamified tournament in which comedy fans could demonstrate their knowledge and establish themselves as experts in the field. Daily quizzes about the content and scenes from episodes currently airing motivated participants to both watch the shows on TV and regularly visit the competition website. As a result, FOX Comedy achieved its goal, and viewers received not only a powerful dose of their favorite humor but also the positive emotions of a fun competition.
Over 1,000 FOX Comedy fans demonstrated their knowledge in 14,000 tasks, and the client, in addition to increased channel viewership, gained knowledge about the preferences of its viewers.
